Only 2 new releases hit Netflix today, but both are worth watching if you’re up for some thrills.
First we’ve got The Call, the psychological crime thriller starring Halle Berry. It follows Casey Welson, “a teenage girl kidnapped by a serial killer and Berry’s Jordan Turner, a 9-1-1 operator, still suffering emotionally from a prior botched 9-1-1 call, who receives Casey’s call.” Reviews wise, it didn’t do terribly well, but there’s more than enough suspense in it to keep you hooked.
Meanwhile, we’ve also got Nightcrawler creeping onto Netflix today, an excellent thriller featuring Jake Gyllenhaal as Louis Bloom, a “con man desperate for work who muscles into the world of L.A. crime journalism and blurs the line between observer and participant to become the star of his own story.” It’s certainly one of the actor’s better performances and an underrated gem that subscribers will no doubt enjoy if they decide to flip it on.
