Will Smith is making headlines this week but not for the right reasons.
Rather, it’s for his assault on Chris Rock at the Oscars. And while most of the attention he’s getting right now is negative, all this commotion is leading to a surge in popularity for his movies on various streaming services.
For instance, over on Netflix, Gemini Man is sitting at #8 on the Top 10 most-watched films worldwide chart. And it’s certainly not because it’s a quality piece of work, because it isn’t. Rather, this sci-fi blockbuster is a frustrating effort from the actor that held so much potential due to its premise and creative team but fell short in almost every way.
Still, that hasn’t stopped Netflix users from flocking to it and you can bet that a lot more of Will Smith‘s movies will be finding themselves becoming popular on streaming as the week progresses.
