An underappreciated horror movie which might’ve passed you by is making waves on Netflix this week, with The Rental quickly climbing its way up the Top 10 chart in the US.
Directed by Dave Franco, brother of James, and starring Dan Stevens and Alison Brie, the film follows “two couples who rent a vacation home for what should be a celebratory weekend get-away,” but things quickly take a very dark turn. It’s a simple enough set up that heads in some really interesting directions as the story delves further and further into horror.
In other words, it’s well worth a watch if you’ve never seen it and clearly many Netflix subscribers agree, as it’s been floating around the Top 10 most-viewed movies chart all week now.
