Disney Plus Just Censored An MCU Title, And Here’s Why

Disney Plus has censored an MCU title on the platform and here’s what change they made and why they did it.

All Hail The King Thumb

An MCU title has been censored on Disney Plus this week, as the platform has made a change to All Hail the King.

The Iron Man 3-related short sees Trevor Slattery in prison and at around the 2:15 mark, a racial slur is dropped, which has now been removed by Disney. As The Direct explains, here’s how the dialogue originally went:

White Power Dave: You know what I want right now?
Trevor Slattery: Autograph?
Dave: I want to give the world exactly what it’s been crying out for. Your dead body laid out on a goddamn slab.
Herman: Hey, cracker! What’s up?
Trevor: Ahhh, it’s the fan base. Kiss my rings, bitch.

All Hail The King Thumb

Now, however, Herman’s line has been changed to “Hey! What’s Up?” – with the studio removing the word ‘cracker’ as it’s a “derogatory term used as a racial epithet directed toward people of Caucasian descent.”

Of course, it’s not a hugely significant change to All Hail the King and is one that most people probably won’t even notice, but it does make us wonder what other alterations Disney Plus has made to their titles that we may not’ve caught.
