Ms. Marvel debuted on Disney Plus this week and along with referencing a whole bunch of MCU heroes and villains, it also broke a new record, with Kamala Khan becoming the “most recently-originated Marvel Comics character to lead their own Marvel Studios movie or show.”
Of course, the titular heroine was first introduced back in July 2013 in the pages of Captain Marvel Vol. 7 #14, so she made the jump pretty quick. Previous record holder Ant-Man (Scott Lang’s version), meanwhile, held onto his position thanks to being introduced in 1979 in The Avengers #181, before headlining his own film with 2015’s Ant-Man.
But clearly, Ms. Marvel has blown that record out of the water with her quick on-screen debut and we can’t wait to see what her MCU future holds for her.
