She-Hulk already featured a whole host of colorful cameos, and head writer Jessica Gao has now revealed that there was one more included in the original script but ultimately, they were cut.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Gao spilled that she wanted to use Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader in the show, bringing the character back from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. And with the villain already set to return in Captain America: New World Order, having him in She-Hulk wouldn’t have been too crazy.

“In my original pitch, I did have The Leader in there. Just as an option, as a suggestion, you know?” Gao said.

As for why he didn’t end up in the series, the writer explained:

“But really, I can’t remember why [it was scrapped]. I don’t remember if it was organically taken out, because we just came up with other stuff, or if we were told no. I honestly don’t remember. But there was thought about either bringing him back or doing some version of a new version of Leader, or some relation to him. But, I mean truly, this was three years ago, and the show has evolved so much that I don’t remember what actually happened.”

So, there you have it. But fear not, for The Leader will still get his time in the spotlight when Captain America: New World Order hits theaters in 2024.
