The announcement came via Marvel’s official Twitter account, accompanied by a teaser poster showcasing the iconic Avengers “A” constructed from red Lego blocks. While the teaser has sparked excitement among fans, Marvel has yet to reveal further details, including the film’s storyline and cast.
This upcoming special marks the latest addition to the enduring tradition of Lego Marvel animated shorts, which initially kicked off in 2013 with the release of the five-episode TV series “Lego Marvel Superheroes: Maximum Overload.” Since then, fans have been treated to standalone 20-minute animated shorts, including “Avengers Reassembled” in 2015, “Guardians of the Galaxy” in 2017, and “Black Panther – Trouble in Wakanda” in 2018.
The title “Code Red” was initially teased at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), where Lego enthusiasts had the chance to witness the film’s poster in person.
While “Code Red” is expected to be another 20-minute short, it should provide ample entertainment for ardent Marvel fans until the release of the highly anticipated “The Marvels” in November, featuring Brie Larson reprising her role as Carol Danvers. Furthermore, Marvel enthusiasts can look forward to more exciting content this year, including the second season of “Loki” premiering on October 6th and the release of “What If…?” Season 2, “Echo,” and “X-Men ’97,” all scheduled for early 2024.
