Chris Diamantopoulos, who is known for his roles in Invincible and The Three Stooges, wants to play Norman Osborn, also known as the Green Goblin, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He proposed a Disney+ series called Goblin that would explore how Osborn becomes the Green Goblin. There’s been a lot of speculation about who will take on this character after Willem Dafoe appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Colman Domingo voices Osborn in the upcoming animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
Some other actors rumored for the live-action Green Goblin role include Andrew Lincoln and Bryan Cranston. However, Diamantopoulos’s interest and pitch for a series give him a strong chance at the part. His comedic background and long-time love for Marvel comics suggest he could bring a fresh perspective to the character.

Diamantopoulos’s timing is interesting since there are rumors that Marvel Studios plans to introduce Norman Osborn in the next Spider-Man movie, with filming set to start soon. This adds more weight to his campaign for the role.
Diamantopoulos said, “I would be very good in the in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yeah, I do definitely. I was born going to Silver Snail comic shop. That’s like one of the first place I ever went when I was a little kid, little baby. I’ve been a comic fan, a Marvel fan for my entire life, passed that on to my son. He’s a crazy comic collector, particularly 80s and 90s stuff… But I think that they should make a series called Goblin, and it should be about Norman Osborn leading up to becoming the Green Goblin. And I should be Norman Osborn.”
On another note, Colman Domingo, who voices Norman Osborn in the animated series, recently mentioned he’s been talking to Marvel Studios about future roles, hinting at more involvement in the MCU. His character will be showcased in the animated series, which launches on January 29, 2025, on Disney+ and will focus on Peter Parker’s early adventures, featuring other Marvel characters as well.
The casting for the next live-action Green Goblin is still up in the air. While several actors are being considered, Diamantopoulos has made a strong case for himself. Fans should keep an eye out for updates in the near future regarding the casting of the Green Goblin in the upcoming Spider-Man film.
