Not for the first time, Henry Cavill has shown interest in taking on a role in the live-action adaptation of Mass Effect, which Amazon is developing.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actor was asked if he’d be into joining the project and said:
“Very much so, yeah, all depending on how they’re executing it. The world of adaptation can be heavy or light. When I like a product, I prefer the adaptation to be less changed from the source, so it all depends… I think it’s found a home, hasn’t it? If [the series] finds a home, I would love to have a conversation … I did not play [the most recent Mass Effect game] Andromeda – I had a go at it, but ended up being very busy. But [The Mass Effect Trilogy]? Yeah. Loved it. Brilliant games. It would make such a magnificent series of movies or TV shows.”
We all know that Cavill considers himself a pretty avid gamer and given how much success he’s seen with The Witcher, another video game adaptation might be perfect for him. But it’s still early days for the Mass Effect series and for now, we’ll just have to wait and see what Amazon has in mind for it.
