How Spider-Man: No Way Home Connects To WandaVision

Spider-Man: No Way Home might not be directly connected to Disney Plus’ WandaVision, but they do share a few things in common.

Spider-Man No Way Home Thumb

Spider-Man: No Way Home is admittedly more self-contained than most MCU films, more interested in setting up the Spider-Verse and revisiting past Spidey movies than tying into the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. But it still does plant a handful of seeds for the future and even has an interesting connection to WandaVision.

As you can see in the gallery below, both projects feature the use of magic via runes, with Doctor Strange using them in No Way Home and Wanda and Agatha utilizing them in the Disney Plus series. And you can bet we’ll be seeing them a lot more often in the future.

If you’ll recall, the runes are created so that magic wielders can’t use their powers in a confined space. As Collider reminds us, Agatha used “runes to trap Wanda and force her to unleash the Scarlet Witch powers, while Wanda used her own runes to strip Agatha from her powers and trap her inside a mind-prison.”

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, meanwhile, Strange is seen using them to cast a spell to make the world forget who Peter Parker is, and you can bet that he’ll be pulling them out of his bag of tricks once more in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
