Hidden Hawkeye Easter Egg May’ve Made Daredevil MCU Canon

A hidden Easter Egg in the Hawkeye finale may’ve actually made Netflix’s Daredevil MCU canon, and here’s what it is.

With Kingpin back in the MCU now, and played by Vincent D’Onofrio, many questions are being asked about whether or not Daredevil is canon. Marvel has yet to make an official statement on the matter, but a hidden Easter Egg in the villain’s costume seemingly confirms that it is.

We’re talking about the cufflinks that Wilson Fisk wore in Daredevil, inherited from his dad. In Hawkeye, he’s got the same pair, which would appear to confirm that the Netflix series is indeed canon.

Of course, this could just be a coincidence, as ComicBook.com points out the following:

Netflix Daredevil’s adaptation of Kingpin’s origin was obviously based on Marvel Comics lore, so technically speaking this cufflink connection could be explained away as a deep staple of the character you’d find in any version or variant of Wilson Fisk. It’s a fair argument that the cufflinks are proof of Marvel Netflix’s MCU status, but far from definitive proof.

That certainly makes sense, but D’Onofrio himself has even admitted that this Kingpin is the same as the one we saw on Netflix. So in all likelihood, this little Hawkeye detail was a hint that Daredevil remains MCU canon.
