It still stings that Marvel cancelled Runaways after only 3 seasons. While not their best small screen project, it was a great show and deserved to remain on Hulu for longer.
But alas, it wasn’t meant to be. And star Gregg Sulkin has now explained why he thinks the studio pulled the plug when they did.
“I think streaming-wise, it’s financially cheaper [to do three seasons]. They have to renegotiate with everybody after the third season,” he said on a recent episode of Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You.
That’d make sense, and it’s not like Runaways was ever a massive hit anyways. Maybe it’ll be revived one day on Disney Plus? Time will tell, but for now, we’ll always have those 3 great seasons to enjoy on Hulu.
