2 Divisive Johnny Depp Movies Just Hit Netflix

2 Johnny Depp movies just hit Netflix, but both of them were divisive upon their release, and for different reasons.

Johnny Depp is a great actor. No matter what your opinion on his personal life is, you can’t deny that he’s a talented individual who has given us some terrific performances. But that doesn’t mean he always hits a home run.

Indeed, 2 of his more divisive films arrived on Netflix the other day and neither of them are what you’d call terribly impressive. The first is 2005’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which saw the actor deliver a larger than life performance but split critics and audiences down the middle. For the most part, the former group enjoyed it, but with only a 51% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s clear that not too many moviegoers dug this remake of the beloved classic.

Meanwhile, we also got Dark Shadows on the 1st, which was another remake that proved divisive upon its release. Praised for its visuals and little else, it didn’t find much favor with audiences or critics and quickly fizzled out at the box office, with many saying it couldn’t settle on a consistent tone and came off as dire and pointless.

Still, if you’re looking for a Johnny Depp fix, you can catch both of these on Netflix now.
