Robert Downey Jr. Is No Longer The Highest-Paid Marvel Star

Robert Downey Jr. is no longer the highest-paid Marvel star, having been dethroned by an unlikely colleague.

A new study has revealed the salaries per second of the various Marvel stars and while Robert Downey Jr. had been in first place for a while, there’s now an unlikely actor at #1. And no, it’s not Tom Holland.

RDJ is currently in second place at £11,000 (or $15,083) per second for a massive 21,447 seconds (roughly 6 hours) of screen time. But in first is none other than Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner, whose salary works out to a wildly impressive £12,160 (or $16,671) per second that he’s on screen throughout all his Marvel movies, which totals 3,018 seconds (50 minutes). And notice how we said ‘movies,’ meaning this figure excludes the aforementioned Disney Plus series.

Of course, with Renner probably on his last legs as far as his MCU career goes, someone like the aforementioned Tom Holland will probably take #1 quite soon. But for now, the Hawkeye actor remains the highest-paid Marvel star.
