Production on Batgirl continues this week and the latest set photo teases something very, very interesting.
As you can see below, a newspaper that’ll be featured in the film mentions Lex Luther being jailed, but below that is where things get real intriguing, as the headline reads: A COMEBACK FOR COBBLEPOT. ScreenRant points out that this is most likely a “reference to Oswald Cobblepot AKA The Penguin.” After all, the newspaper is the Gotham Globe, which we saw in Batman Returns.

Of course, Danny DeVito’s Penguin was killed near the end of the aforementioned movie, but with the multiverse in play, anything is possible now and we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him stop by for a brief cameo in Batgirl.
