Daredevil: Born Again Bringing Back Multiple Characters & Villains

Kingpin Thumb

The trailer for Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again, released on January 15, 2025, gives us a sneak peek of the new Disney+ series, which will premiere on March 4, 2025. This series is a revival of the previous Netflix show and brings back Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

In the trailer, we learn that Kingpin is now the mayor of New York City, and Bullseye, played by Wilson Bethel, is back too, surprisingly shown walking despite being paralyzed in the earlier series.

Jon Bernthal is returning as Frank Castle/The Punisher, but it’s unclear whether he will be a hero or a villain this time. There’s also a new villain named Muse, who will be the main antagonist; not much is known about him yet, including who is playing him, but the trailer suggests he’s based on a serial killer from the comics.

The trailer teases some connections to other Marvel characters, like a billboard for Harlem’s Paradise from the Luke Cage series, leading to speculation that Mike Colter’s Luke Cage might appear. However, this hasn’t been confirmed by Marvel.

Additionally, White Tiger, portrayed by the late Kamar de los Reyes, makes an appearance, and leaked footage suggests he might have a death scene involving The Punisher, though it’s uncertain if this will end up in the final show. This aligns with comic book storylines where his death could pass the mantle to his sister.

There are also several Easter eggs in the trailer, referencing things like Rogers: The Musical, Pingo Doce soda, and the Pym Van Dyne Foundation, tying this series to other Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. We also see Matt Murdock in a new romantic relationship, sharing dances and moments with a woman played by Margarita Levieva, which many think might be Heather Glenn, an important love interest from the comics.

The story will focus on the conflict between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, as their pasts begin to resurface and lead to inevitable clashes. The series will also bring back Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. With a large cast and multiple directors involved, it’s clear that this project has received significant attention and investment.
