A new episode of Marvel Studios Legends on Disney Plus has confirmed that Star-Lord has a sister in the MCU, and here’s who it is.
The reveal comes in an exchange between Drax and Mantis from a deleted Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 scene, where the former asks the latter why she doesn’t want the aforementioned hero to know about his secret sibling, and here’s how it goes.
Drax: “Why don’t you want me to tell him?”
Mantis: (shrugs)
Drax: “He should know you are his sister.”
Mantis: “Our only connection is the source of his greatest shame. I think not.”
As The Direct rightly points out, this is firm confirmation (it was speculated before, but not 100% confirmed) that Mantis is indeed a daughter of Ego and thus, Star-Lord’s sister. Or at least, half-sister.
What ramifications this will have for the heroes, we don’t yet know, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it somehow factors into Disney Plus‘ upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
