Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson seemingly isn’t a fan of Disney Plus releasing his MCU movie in the IMAX Enhanced format on the streaming platform.
Taking to Twitter, here’s what the filmmaker had to share about the new initiative from the Mouse House, which was rolled out this week and applies to a number of movies in the franchise.
“Apparently Disney+ has elected to stream at least some Marvel movies (including Doctor Strange) in the 1.9 IMAX aspect ratio instead of 2:39. I can only speak for myself, but I never intended that aspect ratio to be used for home viewing.”
You can make your own decision on whether the new ratio works well by streaming Doctor Strange on Disney Plus right now.
