Hawkeye director Rhys Thomas has hopped onto social media to clear up some of the confusion surrounding when the show takes place.
Though we know that it’s set post-Shang-Chi thanks to the new MCU timeline, there was still a bit of uncertainty regarding which exact year it unfolds in, but Thomas has now settled things once and for all, saying:
“It’s 2024. For a period of time, we were going to set it two years out – which would make it 2025 – hence me messing with your minds about the timeline. But it’s 1 year out.”
And that’s that. Hawkeye takes place in 2024 and specifically, right around Christmas of that year. Whether it’ll spill into 2025 remains to be seen, but for now, at least we have a firm idea of where on the MCU timeline it falls.
