Spider-Man: No Way Home Has Made MCU Disney Plus History

Not only has Spider-Man: No Way Home shattered box office records, but it’s also made Disney Plus history.

Spider-Man: No Way Home Thumb

Spider-Man: No Way Home has already made MCU history in a number of ways, but it turns out that it’s also made MCU Disney Plus history.

If you’ve seen the film, you’ll be aware that it features the first teaser trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness during its post-credits scene, and it’s here where this little piece of history is made.

At one point in the footage, we see Strange with Wanda Maximoff, and the Scarlet Witch acknowledges the events of WandaVision. Their exchange goes like this:

Stephen Strange: “Wanda…”

Wanda Maximoff: “Oh, I knew sooner or later you’d show up. I made mistakes and people were hurt.”

Strange: “I’m not here to talk about Westview.”

As The Direct rightly points out, this is the first time that a “Marvel Studios movie has directly referenced the events of an MCU Disney Plus series,” following No Way Home’s opening scene which “indirectly acknowledged Hawkeye’s premiere with a Rogers: The Musical Easter Egg.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters and if you haven’t yet seen it, you’d be wise to do so ASAP.
