There are rumors that Ewan McGregor might come back as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the second season of the Star Wars series Ahsoka. This comes after news that Rory McCann will take over the role of Baylan Skoll, previously played by the late Ray Stevenson.
Production for the new season is reportedly in progress, especially after the first season ended with a big cliffhanger involving the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn and the separation of Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren.
Insider Kristian Harloff mentioned that Hayden Christensen is likely to play a significant role in season 2, possibly because Anakin Skywalker’s Force Ghost appeared in the season one finale. Ariana Greenblatt is also expected to return as young Ahsoka, which may mean we’ll see flashbacks, potentially covering events from The Clone Wars animated series. This could help connect the animated stories with the live-action show for viewers who may not be familiar with them.

Dave Filoni, the showrunner, has confirmed he is currently writing Ahsoka season 2 and is working through the challenges of creating exciting storylines. He has expressed happiness with the progress and enjoys collaborating with Rosario Dawson.
Filoni said, “I’m so well into that as well. I’ve been writing it, and I’m still the single writer on it, and so I’ve been enjoying doing that, but it’s a challenge, of course, and working some of these arcs through has been a challenge and making sure it’s all going to come out in a way that I think is exciting for fans. I know that they’re interested in where some of the things I developed in Season 1. I’m pretty happy with it. Love working with Rosario [Dawson], so I can’t wait to get back to that.”
More details about Ahsoka season 2 are expected to be revealed at the Star Wars Celebration event in Japan this April, which will also share new information about The Mandalorian and Grogu. The ongoing storyline will be further developed if McGregor’s return is confirmed.
