With Season 3 of The Mandalorian beginning to take shape behind the scenes, more and more information on it is trickling out – including some intel on a fan favorite who may be returning. But it seems that beyond that, there’ll also be some deeper connections to the Sequel Trilogy.
Thanks to a recent set photo – which you can check out here – we know that we’ll be seeing 3 red Mandalorian helmets which are almost identical to those worn by the Elite Praetorian Guard in The Last Jedi. And as ScreenRant notes, this may indicate that “the Empire, despite having fallen, still maintains its influence on Mandalore and may even be one of the covert homes for the rise of the First Order. However, it’s also possible that the Praetorian Guard is on an Imperial ship that’s ambushed by Din, and Mandalore isn’t necessarily their home.”
Either way, expect Season 3 of The Mandalorian to have many connections and nods to other Star Wars efforts and expand the universe in some new and exciting ways.
