Despite boasting a star-studded cast headlined by Reese Witherspoon, Vince Vaughn and Mary Steenburgen, Four Christmases didn’t find a lot of love from critics at the time of its release.
The 2008 holiday pic has a 25% on Rotten Tomatoes, but with the festive season now upon us, it’s finding new life on streaming. Over on HBO Max, it’s jumped up 47 points on the most-watched movies worldwide list to wind up at #20. Clearly, folks are in the mood for some Christmas viewing, and it seems they’ve settled upon this particular film to fill that need.
Following a “couple who struggles to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas,” it’s hardly a memorable outing, but Four Christmases is still a harmless holiday watch and should find itself holding steady on the charts throughout the coming weeks.
