Willem Dafoe Thumb

Willem Dafoe has found himself in the spotlight quite a bit lately thanks to his return as Green Goblin in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and that’s seemed to translate to renewed interest in some of his earlier efforts, such as Motherless Brooklyn.

Though not one of his finest pieces of work, the mystery drama featured strong performances from a cast that also included Edward Norton, Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin and scored mediocre reviews from critics. Set in 1950s New York, it follows a private detective who tries to solve the murder of his mentor and friend and now, it’s finding itself emerging as a hit on streaming.

Over on HBO MaxMotherless Brooklyn is the 43rd most popular film worldwide, having jumped up an impressive 18 spots. And if you missed it in theaters, we highly recommend catching this Willem Dafoe movie when you have a chance.
