An Incredibly Intense Tom Hanks Movie Is Sailing Up The Streaming Charts

An incredibly intense and powerful Tom Hanks movie is finding a second life on streaming this week, sailing up the charts.

Tom Hanks Thumb

Tom Hanks is one of the most reliable actors in Hollywood, with nearly everything he signs on to finding itself the subject of mass critical acclaim and audience adoration. But perhaps one of his finest efforts was Captain Phillips.

The movie tells the real-life story of Captain Richard Phillips and the “2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the U.S.-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.” Like most of Hanks’ previous films, it scored superb reviews and found much glory during awards season. And now, it’s finding new life on streaming.

The incredibly intense pic is currently the 47th most-watched movie on HBO Max worldwide, after jumping up a massive 26 spots since yesterday. It’s not the only Tom Hanks film trending on the platform, either, proving that he truly is one of the most beloved actors out there.
