Before he would return as the iconic character Neo for The Matrix Resurrections, Keanu Reeves had 1 condition that had to be met. And it’s to do with the Wachowski siblings.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actor shared:
“For me, I had a hesitancy in being involved in something that wasn’t signed off by the Wachowskis. So I was grateful and thrilled when Lana gave me a call.”
Indeed, he went on to say that doing the project only became a real possibility after he spoke with Lana and the director explained her “personal entry point to the material – that following the death of her parents, nostalgia might be a soothing environment to work in.”
That’s fair enough and thankfully, Lana was able to both direct and pen the script. And it looks like another successful collaboration for the duo, with The Matrix Resurrections going down pretty well so far.
