Peacemaker season two is being made right now, and some details about its release have come out. James Gunn, who writes and directs the show, has confirmed that they’re changing the opening credits. Instead of the original dance number, there will be a new one featuring the main cast.
The specific song for the new credits hasn’t been announced yet, but it will be different from the first season’s Do Ya Wanna Taste It by Wig Wam. John Cena, who plays Peacemaker, is excited about this change, mentioning that the cast is looking forward to it and that it highlights everyone involved in making the show.

A full trailer for season two hasn’t been released yet, but some preview footage is available online. The new season is set to premiere on Max in 2025. Not much is known about the plot, but there’s speculation it might involve an alternate universe, which could explain how characters like Auggie Smith might come back even though he seemed to die in season one. This theory might also help clarify some inconsistencies between season one and the wider DC Universe.
Cena said, “I will say, filming the dance number in Season 1, even though it was written in the script the whole way through, so I knew months out we were going to film it, you still kind of scratch your head, like, ‘Is this going to work?’ Then, when it became such a part of the show, I think everybody this time was just so excited, and I really think that’s going to show. I’m very happy with it. I want to say so much more, but I’ll just say I’m very happy with it. Everyone was super enthused and also understood how important it is this time around, and I really hope that shows. I know the show is great. In my mind, the opening number is great. I hope the world agrees.”
Recently removed set photos hinted that a mysterious third character will join Peacemaker and his father, White Dragon. This character is rumored to be Peacemaker’s brother, Keith. Robert Patrick will return to play Auggie Smith in the new season.
The show’s executive producers include James Gunn, Peter Safran, and Matt Miller. John Cena works as a co-executive producer, and Stacy Littlejohn is a consulting producer. The series continues the story of Peacemaker after his appearance in James Gunn’s 2021 movie, The Suicide Squad.
It focuses on Peacemaker’s unusual way of achieving peace, which often involves violence. So far, there haven’t been any more details about the plot or cast beyond the confirmed returns of Cena and Patrick.
