The nefarious Max Schreck, who was the villain in Batman Returns, probably wouldn’t have worked as an antagonist in a Batman movie today. Of course, the sequel to 1989’s Batman also featured both Penguin and Catwoman, but Schreck was still a memorable baddie, despite some questionable motives.
