Hugh Jackman may be best known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, but it’s one of his more under-appreciated films that’s taking off on Netflix today.
On the most-watched movies list in the US, Rise of the Guardians currently sits at #5, jumping up 2 spots since yesterday as it eyes the #1 position. That’s an impressive feat for this fantastical animated adventure, which was a terrific ride that also starred Alec Baldwin, Chris Pine and Jude Law.
Plot-wise, it sees the Immortal Guardians team up to “protect the innocence of children all around the world when the evil spirit Pitch launches an assault on Earth.” Think of it like a superhero film aimed for a much younger audience than what the genre usually targets, and with such a starry cast, it’s no wonder that this Hugh Jackman effort is now taking off on Netflix.
