A twisted thriller starring the MCU’s Anthony Mackie is climbing the Netflix charts this week as it messes with viewers’ minds.
Synchronic released a couple of years back but flew mostly under the radar, and that’s certainly a shame. The trippy movie follows “two New Orleans paramedics’ lives who are ripped apart after they encounter a series of horrific deaths linked to a designer drug with bizarre, otherworldly effects.” And while it wasn’t perfect, it offers up an idiosyncratic, smart sci-fi journey that’s a real mind-bender.
Perhaps that’s why it’s finding so much success on Netflix today, as it sits as the 44th most popular film worldwide. This isn’t the first time it’s appeared on the charts, either, and it’s great to see this overlooked sci-fi flick getting another boost in popularity.
