Before she entered the MCU, Scarlett Johansson made a number of big movies that now get overshadowed by her role as Black Widow in the world’s most popular franchise. And one of those is currently making a comeback on Netflix.
We’re talking about The Island, a Michael Bay actioner that’s big on spectacle and stunts but is lacking in the character and plot department, as is usual for the director. Following a “man living in a futuristic sterile colony who begins to question his circumscribed existence,” it co-stars Ewan McGregor and has mostly been forgotten about now.
But over on Netflix, it’s seeing something of a second life, with The Island currently the 13th most-watched film on the platform. And while it’s not a perfect movie by any means, it’s certainly a fun ride.
