Benedict Cumberbatch is a pretty nice guy as far as Hollywood A-listers go, but he still managed to insult his co-star while filming Netflix’s The Power of the Dog.
In a recent interview, Kodi Smit-McPhee spoke about his time shooting the critically acclaimed movie and revealed that when he tried to get Cumberbatch to open up on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the MCU in general, the actor was a closed book.
“Uh listen, I had this conversation with Benedict [laughs] on set [of The Power of the Dog]…when he was in full method acting as well, and I was like, ‘Listen, I know you’re the dude in the boots right now with the rope, but you need to tell me: am I in the contract moving forward?’ And that guy doesn’t let out a secret. Like, I was actually slightly insulted…he’s really protective of that stuff.”
The Power of the Dog is now streaming on Netflix.
