Hellbound Director Explains The Season 1 Ending

Hellbound director Yeon Sang-ho has explained the message behind the ending of the hit Netflix show that’s taking users by storm.

Hellbound

Hellbound is more than just a terrifying ride through a world where people are dragged to hell by supernatural beings. Indeed, there’s a lot of commentary in the show as well on a number of interesting topics and it asks a bunch of tough questions.

In a recent interview, director Yeon Sang-ho opened up a bit on what some of the messages he was trying to get through are and had this to say:

“The most important message that I wanted to deliver through this work is asking questions on humanity and what it means to be a human… Although the series is set in Korea, I think the issues it touches on are very universal, like life and death, sin and punishment, what it means to be human and so on. We all have these questions as human beings regardless of where you live, so I think those helped the series to resonate with global viewers.”

Hellbound is now streaming on Netflix.
