And there goes another one.
Sad news is rolling in today as TVLine reports that Netflix has cancelled Fate: The Winx Saga after only 2 seasons.
“This is not fun news to share, but Netflix [has] decided not to move forward with Season 3 of Fate: The Winx Saga,” showrunner Brian Young wrote Tuesday in an Instagram post. “This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season. It’s a heartbreaking silver lining, but a silver lining all the same.”
He concluded: “It’s been an amazing four years. Hopefully we’ll see each other again in the future.”
The fantasy series was adored by many and received generally positive reviews, so it’s a shame to see that the streamer has now pulled the plug on it. But it apparently wasn’t able to reach enough eyeballs – or perhaps its costs couldn’t be justified by how many viewers it brought in – and so it’s been cancelled.
RIP Fate: The Winx Saga, you’ll be missed.
