Emily in Paris was renewed for an additional 2 seasons yesterday and while that probably came as good news to a lot of people, there were also a ton of Netflix subscribers who were outraged by the announcement.
For many, the fact that the streamer decided to order up 2 more runs of the series despite cancelling other shows that are arguably a lot better was a bitter pill to swallow, and below you can check out some of the reactions to the renewal.
User Not Myself pleaded with fellow viewers: “I need people to stop hate-watching #EmilyInParis so they will cancel that trash! Stop helping the algorithm!”
Jenn Dwigans said: “I do not understand why @netflix renews terrible shows like #EmilyInParis & cancels awesome ones like @bebopnetflix.”
Holly Elizabeth weighed in: “For the love of all things holy, why does Netflix think we want more #EmilyInParis? For clearer skin, watch #AllCreaturesPBS.”
And Tom Davenport added: “Tonight we pour one out for all the incredible shows that got cancelled after too few seasons, as the news breaks that Emily in Paris is getting AT LEAST four.”
There are a lot more where those came from, too, and one look through Twitter will show you that there are a good number of subscribers who aren’t happy that Emily in Paris is coming back for more. But at the end of the day, it all comes down to the numbers and no one can deny that the Lily Collins-starring series is a hit on the viewing charts.
