Somewhat surprisingly, an old Robert Downey Jr. movie has taken over Netflix this week.
The film in question is U.S. Marshals, which also stars Tommy Lee Jones and Wesley Snipes and follows U.S. Marshal Samuel Gerard and his team of Marshals, who “are assigned to track down Sheridan, a man accused of a double-murder.” It released in 1998 and scored decent reviews but is hardly seen as a classic or even one of RDJ’s better efforts.
Why it’s suddenly become the #1 most-watched movie on Netflix in the US, then, is unclear. But at the same time, Robert Downey Jr. certainly knows how to draw a crowd and given his immense popularity thanks to his role in the MCU, perhaps it makes a bit of sense why some of his older efforts are now finding new life.
