Following the news that Patricia Allison and Simone Ashley won’t be returning for Sex Education Season 4, Tanya Reynolds, who plays Lily, has now confirmed that she won’t be back, either.
This was a decision made months ago, apparently, with the producers looking to give the series a creative rest. According to the actress:
“I’m not [returning], actually, which is sad, very sad. It’s just the natural progression of these shows.”
Continuing on, she said:
“When you have such big ensemble casts and so many characters, I think you have to let a few older characters go to make way for newer ones, which is absolutely the right thing – the way it should happen.”
That’s fair enough, but fans will no doubt be in for a bit of a rough time when Sex Education returns without the 3 aforementioned characters. Let’s just hope they get some new blood to take their place.
