Squid Games’ Front Man Supports Change In Pace

Lee Byung-hun, who plays the Front Man in Netflix’s Squid Game, recently talked about the mixed reactions to the show’s second season. While the season got high viewer numbers, even beating the first season’s premiere, fans didn’t respond as enthusiastically as they did to the first.

Byung-hun acknowledged the critiques, saying he personally liked the new season and respected different opinions. He pointed out that it’s normal for people to have various reactions to creative work and praised the creator’s vision and intelligence for his positive perspective.

The mixed feelings about Squid Game season two could be due to a few reasons. The season ended on a cliffhanger, which might have frustrated some viewers. It also had fewer games than the first season and aimed to tell a different story, which may have changed the tone and structure.

The show’s creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, mentioned he originally planned for seasons two and three to be one long story but had to split it into two seasons after expanding the number of episodes from eight to over ten. Season three is expected to be the last and will wrap up the main storyline.

A specific release date hasn’t been set yet, but Dong-hyuk hinted it might come out in the summer, possibly sooner than fans think. Netflix has not confirmed a date yet, but early hints about season three suggest a return to the game-focused style of the first season. Details about the new games and what will happen next are still under wraps, but the season will pick up from the cliffhanger, focusing on Gi-Hun’s future.
