As we’ve seen time and time again, Netflix subscribers just don’t care about reviews.
That’s been proven true once more today, as the #1 movie on the platform is Home Team. Which, at the time of writing, sits at 17% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics calling it “a shallow representation of sports,” “predictable” and “insincere.”
The sports comedy stars Kevin James as “New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, who’s coaching his son’s 6th grade football team when he’s suspended for the entire 2012 season as a result of his role in the Saints’ Bountygate scandal.” And while that sounds like a decent story for a film, Home Team just hasn’t found much favor with critics.
But over on Netflix it’s a different case and for today, at least, it sits comfortably at #1.
