Archive 81 is absolutely dominating Netflix right now, terrifying users with its wild, supernatural and spooky story that we dare not spoil here. However, we will say that it certainly leaves the door open for a second season. But will we get that?
Well, Netflix hasn’t renewed it just yet, but showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine has already has things mapped out. Speaking in a recent interview, she said:
“It was always meant to keep going. We are always thinking about season 2. There are a lot of little Easter eggs or little things like that, that if you’re like, ‘I wonder if that’s something that is part of the mythology and that will be explored further?'” she teased.
“And, yes. Some things just didn’t actually make it into the season. When you build a mythology series, you build out all this mythology, and then you’re like, ‘Oh, we don’t have room for all that.'”
So, it seems like the cast and crew are on board for more Archive 81. Now we just need Netflix to renew it.
