Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse Actor Hasn’t Gotten Call Yet

The release of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is facing delays, and production is moving more slowly than expected. Although directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson were announced in December 2023, key voice actors have not yet started recording their lines. This news comes nine months after the film was originally supposed to be released in theaters. Fans are worried, especially since the film was already postponed from its intended 2023 date.

Jharrel Jerome, who voices Miles G. Morales, confirmed that he hasn’t begun work on the film yet due to ongoing logistical problems. The film’s original schedule has been disrupted, making a 2025 release unlikely, and even a 2026 release seems optimistic, considering the current production issues. The Hollywood strikes of 2023 have also complicated things.

Jerome said, “It’s [been] a dream since I was a child to just be a part of that world in any way. Miles Morales is a specific, character as a Dominican from New York, that I’ve always dreamed of embodying and portraying. So just to even play the voice in the world that they’re creating is so incredible because what it’s doing for my people and our people back in New York – Dominicans, Puerto Ricans – it’s really shifting the culture for us in the mainstream in terms of animation and the superhero genre. For me to be a part of it is an honor.”

These delays raise concerns about the production process and efficiency. While the extended timeline might allow for improvements, it also shows that there are challenges similar to those faced during the making of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The production delays affect not just the main movie but also related projects. A rumored spin-off featuring characters like Spider-Woman and Spider-Gwen has probably been put on hold as Sony focuses on finishing the main trilogy first.

Given the excitement for the conclusion of the Spider-Verse trilogy, the slow pace of production is surprising. Fans are eager to see how the story wraps up, especially after the cliffhanger ending of the previous film. However, the long production timeline creates uncertainty about the final product and how it will be received.

This delay may also affect marketing strategies and the overall impact of the film when it eventually comes out. The team is now concentrating on making sure the final film meets expectations and provides a satisfying conclusion to the popular animated trilogy. More updates on the film’s progress are anticipated, but without a set release date, there is still uncertainty about the timeline.
