Reports are suggesting that Marvel Studios is working on a film titled World War Hulks. Although there have been rumors about a World War Hulk movie for a while, new insider information indicates that this project is officially moving ahead. The story will likely deviate from the original Planet Hulk storyline, especially after Bruce Banner becomes Smart Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok.
The upcoming films Captain America: Brave New World and elements from She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are expected to influence the plot of World War Hulks. Sources say the movie is in active development and might be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Mutant Saga. There is also speculation that it could connect to a Hulk vs. Wolverine film, where Wolverine might confront the Hulk, possibly linked to a government group known as Department H.

The story is rumored to focus on Bruce Banner facing his worst fears: multiple Hulks created by various governments. This idea was hinted at in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The plot could involve a showdown between Banner and President Ross, who could become the Red Hulk.
There’s also a chance the Savage Hulk will return to battle Ross. This storyline does not fit the typical expectations of a World War Hulk adaptation and instead highlights these government-generated Hulks.
Right now, the MCU has several Hulks, including Bruce Banner, She-Hulk, and Abomination. There’s potential for characters like Amadeus Cho and The Leader to make an appearance, and Maestro might also be included in this conflict. The variety of Hulks being introduced sets the stage for a large-scale showdown.
An official announcement for World War Hulks is expected to come at San Diego Comic-Con or D23 later this year. Bruce Banner’s healed arm after Avengers: Endgame, his relationship with his son Skaar in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and the mixed reactions to Skaar’s introduction all provide important context for the upcoming film.
