According to sources close to The Illuminerdi, Paramount+ is hard at work on a reboot of Beverly Hills Cop.
This doesn’t mean that Beverly Hills Cop 4 is dead, but it’s not moving very fast and the studio wants to bolster their roster of streaming exclusives to draw in subscribers. As such, they’re working on this reboot which will be set in the 80s and see someone new step into the role of Axel Foley. Meaning the pic will have its own continuity.
Plot-wise, it’s said that it’ll stick close to the original and Paramount is reportedly eyeing a a Caleb McLaughlin-type for Axel, while they want Billy Magnussen and Dylan Minnette types for Taggart and Rosewood. That’s all we have to go on for now, but as soon as we learn more about this Beverly Hills Cop reboot, we’ll certainly let you know.
