Along with a heartbreaking callback to Episode 1, the latest outing of Moon Knight also had a Black Panther reference you may’ve missed.
If you’ll recall, at one point Marc asks Taweret if they’re really in the afterlife, and when she confirms that they are, she also mentions that they’re in one afterlife, as “there are a number of planes and realms where souls go once their consciousness has been detached from their bodies.” And she just so happens to name another one of them: the Ancestral Plane.
Of course, this is featured in Black Panther as it’s where Wakandans go after they die. Not to mention it’s also where Black Panthers go to “commune with their ancestors after taking the Heart-Shaped Herb.” And while we still don’t know what some of these other planes may be, this is still a nice little nod from Moon Knight to the wider MCU.
